Savalan Winery takes its name from the beautiful Savalan village, nestled in the foothills of the Great Caucasus mountains in the Gabala district of Azerbaijan. A product of Italian engineering and Azerbaijani terroir, our wine embodies a tradition of collaboration in Gabala that began centuries ago when it was a thriving hub for cultural exchange along the ancient Silk Road.

Our wine is expertly crafted by Italian oenologists Daniele D’Andrea and Eliza Vagnoni, bringing together the best of Italy and Azerbaijan to produce beautiful wines in the birthplace of winemaking. Located 400m above sea level, the Savalan vineyards are ideally situated where the biological conditions are perfect for the highest quality production of grapes which thrive in the moderate climate. Our vineyards are spread over 350 hectares, and each year the grapes are hand harvested to ensure only the top-quality grapes are collected for pressing and fermentation in our winery. From humble beginnings as a passion project of the winery’s founders, Savalan now produces 24 varieties of wine, many of which have received awards in international competitions, including Mundus Vini, the International Wine Challenge, Monde Selection, and Decanter. On the label of all Savalan wine, you will see a local monument, the beautiful "sleeping beauty" mountain, which protects our valley and stands as a symbol of the region.
