Algrano

Algrano is a Swiss startup founded by three university friends to become the first online trading platform for green coffee beans. Finding early success on the official launch in June 2015 algrano was awarded with the coveted innovation prize from the SCAE at World of Coffee in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Algrano’s mission has led the team to work with one of the most fascinating agricultural products bringing nature and humans together globally. Coffee is more than a product; it is a global language that transcends borders and brings people together around the globe to celebrate shared experiences.
By April 2019 algrano had 527 roasters, 563 producers and 73 cooperatives signed up to the platform.

Services offered started with matchmaking roasters with their ideal producer and managing the logistics, financing, warehousing and stock management of coffee from producers into Europe. This has spread to offering services for roasters with existing relationships and repeat orders for relationships born on the platform. With orders ranging from single bags to multiple containers, algrano has a solution for every roaster looking to buy direct from a grower.
