The milk alternative or plant-based market is currently valued at over £2 billion and is projected to be worth more than double that by 2030.  It is predicted that oat milk will eclipse all milk alternatives and is already the number one seller by a long way. The UK is only 20% self-sufficient with ‘dairy alternative milk' and imports the majority of what is consumed from overseas. Out of this 20% that is actually produced in the UK, the majority is produced by a non-UK conglomerate - therefore the majority of profits are going abroad.
